Darnley Bay Resources Ltd. Oct. 17 reported a significant increase in the molybdenum and tungsten resources at the Davidson property in north-central British Colombia.

The new resource for Davidson includes 23 holes completed since the last estimate was completed for the property in 2007.

A total of 72,815 meters of drilling has been completed in 218 drill holes since exploration of the molybdenum-tungsten property began in the 1950s. All of the historical drill core is available to Darnley Bay.

Davidson now hosts 90.08 metric tons of measured and indicated resource grading 0.286 percent molybdenum disulfide (340.5 million pounds molybdenum) and 0.034 percent (67.53 million pounds) tungsten trioxide.

This represents an 18 percent increase in molybdenum and a 16 percent increase in tungsten, compared to the previous resource estimate for Davidson.

The report associated with the new estimate recommends that a preliminary economic assessment be commissioned to determine the cost of producing molybdenum and tungsten from Davidson.

Bulk mining with onsite processing facilities and selective mining of higher grade ore to be shipped to another mill for processing are possible options for the B.C. molybdenum-tungsten project.
