GT Gold's 2018 drill program began by expanding the Saddle South discovery, where this hole drilled last year cut 6.95 meters of 51.53 grams per metric ton gold.

GT Gold Corp. June 27 reported that two drills are turning at the high-grade Saddle gold-silver discovery on the Tatogga property British Columbia's Golden Triangle

The company plans to complete at least 18,000 meters of diamond drilling in 56 holes this year, with the potential to expand the program and continue drilling into November.

The 2018 drilling is beginning at Saddle South, were a 16,000-meter discovery drill program carried out last year outlined a high-grade, near-surface gold-silver zone.

Highlights from the 2017 drilling include 6.95 meters of 51.53 g/t gold in hole TTD007; 12.15 meters of 14.75 g/t gold in TTD019; 8.25 meters of 20.02 g/t gold in TTD046; and 3.0 meters of 31.79 g/t gold and 1,141 g/t silver in TTD058.

Step-out holes to the east and west of a 400-meter-long core zone detailed by last year's drilling encountered gold, suggesting the potential to expand the high-grade gold zone.

GT Gold is especially excited about an 800-metre-long induced polarization anomaly to the east that may represent sulfide-rich veins as demonstrated by TTD059, a hole drilled late in 2017 that cut 5.83 meters of 12.12 g/t gold.

This year's drilling will also test a porphyry copper-gold-silver target at Saddle North that was only briefly drilled at the end of 2017.

Reconnaissance hole TTD062 tapped this porphyry-style mineralization beneath thick glacial cover toward the eastern end of the Saddle North trend. The 210.53-meter intercept from bedrock surface to the bottom of hole 62 ran 0.14 g/t gold, 0.28 g/t silver, and 0.16 percent copper. These grades strengthened at depth, with the bottom 33.73 meters averaging 0.22 g/t gold, 0.36 g/t silver and 0.24 percent copper.

An induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey is currently underway at this target that shows strong similarities to the nearby Red Chris deposit being mined by Imperial Metals.

This survey is looking deeper, in more detail, and along trend from previous geophysics carried out at Saddle North. GT Gold said the added geophysics will provide an enhanced understanding of the geometry and apparent scale of the intrusive-related mineralizing system to depth.

Once all the geophysical data is acquired, modelled, and interpreted, drill targets will be prioritized, including deepening of discovery hole TTD062.

Drilling at Saddle North is expected to begin by the end of July.
