The 2018 drill program at the Dolly Varden project in northern British Columbia focused on high-grade silver resource delineation and verification, particularly in the areas of new discoveries in the Torbrit North, Torbrit East and Moose-Lamb targets, as well as areas around the Torbrit and the Dolly Varden deposits.

Dolly Varden Silver Corp. Dec. 6 reported results from 12 additional holes drilled this year at the Dolly Varden property in northwestern British Columbia.

In 2015, Dolly Varden published a maiden indicated resource of 3.07 million metric tons averaging 321.6 grams per metric ton (31.8 million ounces) silver in four zones – Dolly Varden, North Star, Torbrit and Wolf. These zones are associated with historical high-grade silver mines that date back to the dawn of the 20th Century.

One hole in the latest batch of results, DV18-135, cut 22.15 meters (21.81 meters estimated true thickness) of 332.8 g/t (10.7 oz/t) silver, 0.45 percent lead and 0.22 percent zinc in the Kitsol zone, which is about 1,500 meters northwest of the historical Torbit Mine. This longer intercept included 4.05 meters averaging 1,112.7 g/t (35.77 oz/t) silver, 0.32 percent lead and 0.35 percent zinc.

Dolly Varden Silver President and CEO Gary Cope said Kistol Zone represents a promising target outside of the 2015 resource estimate.

Another hole drilled below the historical Dolly Varden Mine, DV18-154, cut 12.32 meters (12.13 meters estimated true thickness) averaging 189.7 g/t (6.1 oz/t) silver, 0.13 percent lead and 0.74 percent zinc. A 1.47-meter section of this intercept grading 1,389.5 g/t (44.67 oz/t) silver, 0.52 percent lead and 0.69 percent zinc.

The 2018 drill program is designed to focus on resource delineation and verification, particularly in the areas of new discoveries in the Torbrit North, Torbrit East and Moose-Lamb targets, as well as areas around the Torbrit and the Dolly Varden deposits.

"In viewing the Dolly Varden property as a whole, it should be noted that there are multiple silver deposits and high-grade silver targets within a five-kilometer (3.1 miles) radius," said Cope.

The company anticipates updating the Dolly Varden resource early in 2019.
