Open pit gold silver exploration at Barrick Gold's historic mine BC

Skeena Resources Ltd.

Skeena Resources' 2018 drilling at the 21A Zone was designed to infill and upgrade the inferred resources in this near surface gold-silver deposit at the Eskay Creek project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.

Skeena Resources Ltd. Jan. 15 reported additional high-grade gold-silver intercepts from the recently completed drill program at the Eskay Creek project in the Golden Triangle of northwestern British Columbia.

Skeena cut a deal with Barrick Gold Corp. late in 2017 to acquire the major's interest in Eskay Creek and during 2018 the junior carried out an initial phase of expansion and infill drilling targeting three zones – 21A, 21C and 22 – at this historic gold-silver mine property.

The latest batch of results are from eight holes testing the 21A Zone, highlights include:

• 33.57 meters averaging 4.93 grams per metric ton gold and 134.59 g/t silver in hole SK-18-033;

• 28.88 meters of 7.11 g/t gold and 54.21 g/t silver in SK-18-034;

• 14.72 meters of 22.36 g/t gold and 646.92 g/t silver in SK-18-036;

• 5.5 meters of 6.68 g/t gold and 14.56 g/t silver in SK-18-037; and

• 4.5 meters of 12.37 g/t gold and 1.71 g/t silver in SK-18-040.

According to a resource estimate calculated for Skeena Resources in September, Eskay Creek hosts 1.09 million metric tons of open-pit indicated resource averaging 4.9 g/t (173,000 ounces) gold and 72 g/t (2.53 million oz) silver; plus 4.26 million metric tons of open-pit inferred resource averaging 4.3 g/t (458,000 oz) gold and 72 g/t (9.81 million oz) silver.

The largest part of this surface mineable resource is found in 21A Zone.

The 2018 drilling at 21A was designed to infill and upgrade the inferred resources in this zone by increasing drill density to 20-meter intercept spacing. This will allow for future economic analyses as well as the collection of fresh material for an upcoming metallurgical characterization and testing program.

In addition to the open-pit resource, Eskay Creek hosts 2.51 million metric tons of underground indicated resource averaging 7.2 g/t (582,000 oz) gold and 215 g/t (17.34 million oz) silver; plus 812,000 metric tons of underground inferred resource averaging 7.2 g/t (187,000 oz) gold and 214 g/t (5.59 million oz) silver.

None of the 2018 drilling completed this year is included in the September resource calculation.

Assays from drilling at the 22 Zone are pending and will be released once finalized.
