Millrock Resources Inc. and Resolution Minerals Ltd. have resumed the highly anticipated drilling at the 64North project in Alaska's Goodpaster Mining District.

The exploration partners got an early start to 2020 exploration on this property immediately west of Northern Star Resources Ltd.'s Pogo gold mine but were forced to idle down the drills due to health and travel concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drill crews completed one hole at a secondary target, which was selected as a starting hole largely due to its proximity to a water well and the logistics of kicking off a drill program during the Alaska winter.

Though not a primary target, hole 20AU001 did encountered anomalous gold along with bismuth, arsenic and tellurium indicative of Pogo-style mineralization.

A second hole, 20AU002, was well short of its targeted depth when the program was suspended in late March.

"The core drilled in the first two holes of the program demonstrated a Pogo-like system with an abundance of alteration and sulfide mineralization indicating a robust hydrothermal environment," said Millrock Resources President and CEO Greg Beischer. "There are eleven gold-anomalous intersections in the first hole and three in the second hole. The style of mineralization and alteration intersected appears to be similar in character to Northern Star's Goodpaster gold deposit."

Northern Star's Goodpaster deposit appears to trend west into the 2,000- by 5,000-meter Aurora target area being tested by Millrock and Resolution.

With drills once again turning on the property, the partners plan to complete at least 2,200 meters of drilling at Aurora over the next couple of months.

The summer program will also include an electromagnetic geophysical survey flown over Aurora and the Echo prospect, which is directly down-dip from the Goodpaster prospect on the Pogo property.

The airborne geophysics will include a Z-Axis Tipper Electromagnetic ZTEM survey, which can penetrate conductive cover that often interferes with other EM systems and can penetrate to depths below 1,000 meters and is excellent for discriminating subtle resistivity contrasts.

The airborne survey will provide geophysical information over a much wider area than the two ground-based geophysical lines completed last year. The airborne survey will also collect data over the western side of Northern Star's Pogo property, including Goodpaster, which will provide a means of correlating the known gold mineralization on Pogo to targets on West Pogo.

Millrock and Resolution have established a comprehensive COVID-19 safety plan with clear protocols to help keep the exploration team safe during this summer's exploration at West Pogo.
