Banyan Gold's 2020 drilling at AurMac has focused primarily on expanding this 775,00-ounce gold deposit in the Yukon.

Banyan Gold Corp. Sept. 21 reports that step-out drilling has extended the strike of the Airstrip deposit on its AurMac property in the Yukon by roughly 200 meters.

Airstrip is the larger of two deposit at AurMac, a road accessible project about 56 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Mayo and roughly 10 kilometers (six miles) south of Victoria Gold Corp.'s Eagle gold mine.

According to a resource calculated earlier this year, Airstrip hosts 46 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.52 grams per metric ton (774,926 oz) gold. Powerline, the second AurMac deposit, hosts 6.58 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.61 g/t (129,019 oz) gold, for a combined 52.58 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.54 g/t (903,945 oz) gold.

In June, Banyan launched a 2020 drill program focused on expanding this resource and to demonstrate the higher gold grades AurMac has to offer.

So far, the company has completed more than 3,578 meters of drilling in 18 holes at Airstrip.

Highlights from the latest round of assay results include: 47.7 meters averaging 1.02 g/t gold from a depth of 84.8 meters in hole MQ-20-67; 16.5 meters of 0.53 g/t gold from surface and 12 meters of 0.55 g/t gold from 29 meters in MQ-20-79; 49.5 meters of 0.51 g/t gold from 140.5 meters in MQ-20-80; and 114.8 meters of 0.59 g/t gold from 161 meters in MQ-20-82.

"These results demonstrate the continuity of gold grade in the projected mineralized zone of the Airstrip deposit, on strike and down dip," said Banyan Gold President and CEO Tara Christie.

Hole MQ-20-67 was drilled about 100 meters west of MQ-20-66, a hole reported earlier this year that cut 46 meters of 0.63 g/t gold.

"Together these add over 200 meters of strike extent to the AurMac deposit in previously untested areas," said Christie.

The longer bulk tonnage intercepts in the latest round of results also included some shorter high-grade sections, including 10.6 meters of 2.38 g/t gold in MQ-20-67; 2.1 meter of 18.4 g/t gold in MQ-20-73; and 1.5 meters of 27.7 g/t gold in MQ-20-81.

Earlier this month, Banyan reported a major expansion of its land position at and around AurMac.

The company staked 401 new claims along the south border of AurMac, expanding this gold prospective land package to 15,600 hectares (38,500 acres). In addition, Banyan staked 593 claims about five kilometers (3 miles) to the west. Banyan named the 11,700-hectare (28,900 acres) western claims Nitra, which means respect in the Northern Tuchone ancestral language of the First Nation of Nacho Nyak Dun.

"Banyan has now expanded our land position to over 270 square kilometers of highly prospective ground that fits the application of our geological model developed and utilized to successfully unlock near surface gold resources at Airstrip and Powerline," Christie said.
