Banyan Gold's 2020 drill program focused on expanding the resource at AurMac and to test higher grade gold targets on this property near Victoria's Eagle Mine.

Banyan Gold Corp. posted a maiden 903,945-ounce inferred gold resource for AurMac, the new name for the company's combined Aurex ‎and McQuesten properties in the Yukon.

A road accessible project about 56 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Mayo and roughly 10 kilometers (six miles) south of Victoria Gold Corp.'s Eagle gold mine, AurMac hosts at-surface deposits – Airstrip and Powerline – along with other drill-ready targets.

Banyan's drilling over the previous two years has focused on building resources at Airstrip and Powerline.

This work has culminated in 46 million metric tons of inferred resource at Airstrip averaging 0.52 grams per metric ton (774,926 oz) gold and 6.58 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.61 g/t (129,019 oz) gold at Powerline, for a combined 52.58 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 0.54 g/t (903,945 oz) gold.

In June, Banyan launched a 2020 drill program focused on expanding this resource and to demonstrate the higher gold grades AurMac has to offer.

Highlights of 2020 drilling at the Airstrip zone include: 46 meters of 0.63 g/t gold in hole MQ-20-66; 47.7 meters of 1.02 g/t gold in MQ-20-67; 116.4 meters of 0.75 g/t gold in MQ-20-71; 32.5 meters of 0.75 g/t gold in MQ-20-76; 20.5 meters of 0.82 g/t gold in MQ-20-77; 65.2 meters of 0.64 g/t gold in MQ-20-78; 114.8 meters of 0.59 g/t gold in MQ-20-82.

The longer bulk tonnage intercepts include shorter higher-grade sections, including 10.6 meters of 2.38 g/t gold in MQ-20-67; 2.1 meters of 18.4 g/t gold in MQ-20-73; and 1.5 meters of 27.7 g/t gold in MQ-20-81.

Highlights of 2020 drilling at Powerline include: 129.5 meters of 0.8 g/t gold in AX-20-42; 128.5 meters of 0.72 g/t gold in AX-20-43; and 135 meters of 0.76 g/t gold in AX-20-44.

Banyan says the 2020 step-out holes have expanded Powerline by 500 meters along strike.

In September, Banyan staked 401 new claims along the south border of AurMac, expanding the gold prospective land package to 15,600 hectares (38,500 acres), and 593 claims about five kilometers (3 miles) to the west. Banyan named the 11,700-hectare (28,900 acres) western claims Nitra, which means respect in the Northern Tuchone ancestral language of the First Nation of Nacho Nyak Dun.

"Banyan has now expanded our land position to over 270 square kilometers of highly prospective ground that fits the application of our geological model developed and utilized to successfully unlock near surface gold resources at Airstrip and Powerline," said Banyan Gold President and CEO Tara Christie.
