Alianza Minerals Ltd. Aug. 19 reported that drilling continues to expand upon the high-grade silver mineralization at the West Fault Complex on the company's Haldane property in Yukon's famed Keno Hill Mining District.

Located about 25 kilometers (16 miles) west of Alexco Resource Corp's Keno Hill silver mine, the 8,579-hectare (21,200 acres) Haldane property hosts a historical mine that produced roughly 24.7 metric tons of hand-sorted ore averaging 3,102 grams per metric ton (99.7 ounces per metric ton) silver and 59% lead on the south side of Bighorn Creek. A vein on the north side of Bighorn Creek produced another 2.1 metric tons of hand-sorted ore averaging 4,602 g/t (148 oz/t) silver and 57.9% lead in 1926 and 1927.

West Fault is about 1,000 meters north of the historic mining areas at Haldane.

Hole HLD20-19, drilled at West Fault last year, cut 16.15 meters (8.7 meters estimated true-width) averaging 311 g/t silver, including 3.3 meters (1.8 meters estimated true-width) averaging 818 g/t silver.

This year's drilling continues to target the high-grade silver mineralization with the strong vein-fault system at West Fault.

Hole HLD21-24, reported by Alianza in July, cut 5.24 meters (3.14 meters estimated true-width), averaging 1,351 g/t silver, 2.9% zinc, and 2.4% lead, including 2.1 meters (1.26 meter true-width) averaging 3,267 g/t silver, 7% zinc, and 5.8% lead.

Alianza has received assay results from two additional holes from this drilling. The best intercept came in hole HLD21-25, which cut 6.83 meters (4.27 meters estimated true-width) averaging 363.4 g/t silver, 2.8% zinc, and 1.73% lead, including 1.6 meters (one meter true-width) averaging 1,107 g/t silver, 3.97% zinc, and 6.98% lead.

A sample from the 1.1-meter interval of hole HLD21-24 that averaged 3,010 g/t silver, 6.4% zinc, and 5.4% lead.

"We continue to expand the West Fault Complex mineralization at Haldane, with our third high-grade silver intersection," said Alianza Minerals President and CEO Jason Weber. "We have now extended the known mineralization 62 meters down dip in this hole and in our previously released HLD21-24, we have extended mineralization 75 meters down dip and approximately 50 meters along strike of HLD20-19. The additional holes at West Fault Complex are showing that it is a large structure with excellent potential for additional high grade silver mineralization."

Another hole, HLD21-23, intersected the West Fault vein, however, Alianza believes recent remobilization of the fault cut the vein mineralization off. As such, this hole returned a 30-centimeter intersection averaging 145 g/t silver, 19.3% zinc, and 0.30% lead, and 19.3 % zinc. The company says it appears that some of the intersection may have been lost as the footwall contact consists of rubble and gouge material that may not have been recovered.

Assay results from two additional holes drilled at West Fault are expected in September.
