Sitka's RC project in the Yukon is a district-scale land package that hosts several intrusion-related gold targets.

Sitka Gold Corp. May 17 announced an impressive intercept among its assay results during the 2022 winter exploration program at its RC Gold project in the Yukon, reporting 205.8 meters averaging 1.01 grams per metric ton gold from surface, including 91 meters averaging 1.61 g/t gold.

"Hole 23 has produced some impressive results with characteristics similar to those seen in our initial Blackjack zone discovery hole and our first follow-up hole and continues to demonstrate that we have found a structurally controlled, high-grade gold corridor within a larger intrusion-related gold system at RC Gold," said Sitka Gold CEO Cor Coe. "Hole 23 is the second follow-up drill hole completed since our discovery of the Blackjack zone, where hole 21 returned 220.1 metres of 1.17 g/t gold from surface that included 50.5 metres of 2.08 g/t gold and the first follow up 2022 winter diamond drill hole, hole 22 returned 62 metres of 1.21 g/t gold including 14 metres of 3.85 g/t gold."

The winter drilling program was focused in the area of the Blackjack zone which was first intersected by hole 21. Blackjack occurs within the Saddle West zone, where the Blackjack fault obliquely intersects an east-west trending extensional corridor that is defined by abundant lamprophyre dykes and the gold-in-soil anomaly of greater than 100 parts per billion and greater than 500 ppb that covers an area of 2,000 meters by 500 meters between the Saddle West, Blackjack, Saddle, and Eiger zones.

Sitka says the large gold-in-soil anomaly is still open in all directions and drilling to date within this corridor has demonstrated the potential for a continuous zone of gold mineralization.

"With elevated gold values encountered from surface to the 205.8 metre depth of hole 23, in both intrusive and metasedimentary host rocks, plus visible gold observed across several intervals, we now have confirmation that this exciting new gold-rich zone is continuous along vertical section from hole 21 through to hole 22 and is indeed open for expansion," added Coe.

Gold assay highlights from hole 23 or DDRCCC-22-023 include:

205.8 meters averaging 1.01 g/t gold from surface including,

91 meters averaging 1.61 g/t gold from a depth of 46 meters.

One meter of 10.95 g/t gold from 47 meters.

One meter of 13.65 g/t gold from 68 meters.

One meter of 16.8 g/t gold from 125 meters.

Hole 24, or DDRCCC-22-024, recently returned results that show similarly impressive results, highlights include:

107.5 meters averaging 1.44 g/t gold from 4.5 meters to 112 meters.

66 meters of 2.11 g/t gold from a depth of 16 meters including,

One meter of 3.76 g/t gold from 24 meters.

One meter of 7.92 g/t gold from 66 meters and,

Two meters of 35.6 g/t from 80 meters.

"Results from our winter drill program continue to deliver with exceptional assays from hole 24 adding to the mounting evidence that our newly discovered Blackjack zone could host a multi-million ounce, economically viable gold deposit," finished Coe. "With over 100 metres of nearly 1.5 grams per tonne gold drilling from surface, including 2 metres of over 1 ounce per tonne of gold, hole 24 has confirmed that the gold-rich mineralization in this zone extends at least 100 metres west of our initial discovery hole and remains open."

The company says results from the winter drilling program will help the company advance its understanding of the project. Additionally, Sitka eagerly awaits the results from the remaining winter holes as it prepares to complete the 10,000-meter drill program this summer.
