Scottie Resources Corp. June 9 announced that it plans to carry out 15,000 meters of drilling this year at its Scottie Gold Mine project about 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of Stewart, British Columbia.

This property is home to the Scottie Mine, which produced 95,426 ounces of gold from ore averaging 16.2 grams per metric ton gold over five years of operation beginning in 1981.

Roughly 12,000 meters of this year's drill program at Scottie, slated to begin later this month, will test the Blueberry Contact Zone about 2,000 meters north of the past-producing underground mine.

Since the discovery of the Blueberry Contact Zone in 2019, the Scottie geological team has developed a new geological model that transformed the Blueberry target from a single vein to a property-scale structural feature. Testing of this model last year has helped define the architecture of the system, which links several widely spaced high-quality targets along a common structure.

Highlights from drilling over a roughly 700-meter stretch of the Blueberry zone during the 2021 program include:

• 4.94 meters averaging 28.8 grams per metric ton gold in hole SR-21-81.

• 10 meters averaging 16.5 g/t gold in hole SR-21-82.

• 8.07 meters averaging 14.6 g/t gold in hole SR-21-84.

• 11.86 meters averaging 34.6 g/t gold in hole SR-21-131.

• 13.49 meters averaging 15.3 g/t gold in hole SR-21-138.

Scottie says that due to overburden coverage along the contact zone, multiple areas have no surficial expression, creating gaps in the drill density along the known structure. In addition to step-out holes to extend the Blueberry zone, short infill holes will also be drilled this year to test the covered areas to connect the already established high-grade zones.

"Since delivering the outstanding drill results from 2021 which unlocked the clear potential of the Blueberry Contact Zone, our geological team has been diligently planning an ambitious follow-up drill program," said Scottie Resources President and CEO Brad Rourke. "The focus of drilling at Blueberry will be shared between extending the strike length of the zone, infill between established zones of mineralization, and testing continuity of the structures to depth. We've also developed a number of other high-priority targets at the Scottie Gold Mine Project that have the potential to significantly enhance the scale of the existing discoveries."

The 3,000-meter balance of the planned 2022 drill program will test some of these other targets, including in and around the historical Scottie Mine.

In addition to drilling, the company will be carrying out a high-resolution lidar survey, as well as ground-based electromagnetic geophysical surveys aimed at furthering the Blueberry Contact Zone beneath a historic lakebed that lies to the south.

The company also plans to complete detailed geological mapping on a variety of gold and polymetallic targets on its Cambria gold-silver-copper-zinc project adjacent to Stewart, BC. Scottie says the Cambria property hosts multiple small past-producing silver-rich polymetallic mines, and this season's exploration work will be focused on developing drill targets to test and advance the property's potential.
