Nighthawk is more than midway through the 50,000 meters of resource expansion and exploration drilling it plans to complete at its Indin Lake gold project this year.

Nighthawk Gold Corp. July 19 reported the first batch of assays from its 2022 program at the Indin Lake gold project in Northwest Territories, which includes gold intercepts from resource expansion holes at the Colomac Main and Grizzly Bear deposits.

In May, Nighthawk announced plans to complete up to 100,000 meters of drilling at Indin Lake over the next two years.

According to a calculation completed in March, Indin Lake hosts 58.2 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 1.44 grams per metric ton (2.69 million oz) gold, plus 19.7 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 2.1 g/t (1.33 million) gold.

All the indicated resource is found in deposits within Colomac Centre, which is the location of an envisioned hub where the majority of operating infrastructure at Indin Lake will be established.

Nighthawk's 2022 program began with more than 25,000 meters of drilling focused on expanding the resource within the Colomac Centre deposits – Colomac Main, Goldcrest, Grizzly Bear, 24 and 27.

The first batch of assay results is from 5,616 meters of drilling at the Colomac Main and Grizzly Bear deposits.

Highlights from 12 holes drilled at Colomac Main include:

32.25 meters averaging 1.13 g/t gold from a depth of 123 meters in hole C22-03.

91.75 meters averaging 1.38 g/t gold from a depth of 152 meters in hole C22-04.

Nighthawk says both these holes intersected mineralization outside of the 2022 mineral resource pit shells about 85 meters below the surface, demonstrating continuity of near-surface mineralization to the north of the Colomac Main deposit.

"This is exemplified by drill hole C22-04, which intersected 1.91 g/t gold over 60.95 meters, suggesting the potential expansion of the potential open-pit mineralization in that area," said Nighthawk Gold President and CEO Keyvan Salehi. "Similarly, we encountered mineralization outside of the current Mineral Resource Estimate north pit shell at Grizzly Bear."

Highlights from Grizzly Bear, which lies about 1,000 meters southwest of the southern end of Colomac Main, include:

19.85 meters averaging 0.59 g/t gold from a depth of 118.5 meters in hole GB22-07.

26.5 meters averaging 0.45 g/t gold from a depth of 155.25 meters in hole GB22-08.

14.85 meters averaging 1.4 g/t gold from a depth of 199.65 meters in hole GB22-14.

The 2022 drilling at Grizzly Bear Deposit focused on expanding mineralization around the north end of the deposit, which hosts 1 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 1.39 g/t (44,900 oz) gold. The mineralization in GB22-07 and GB22-08 intersected mineralization below the resource.

Salehi says the balance of the 2022 drilling will be carried out at the Kim and Cass deposits about 15 kilometers (nine miles) southwest of Colomac Main.

Kim hosts 2.2 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 1.92 g/t (135,800 oz) gold, and Cass hosts 2.3 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 2.44 g/t (180,500 oz) gold.

Connected to Colomac Centre by an 18-kilometer (11 miles) access road, Kim and Cass have significant potential as satellite deposits that could expand and increase the grade of gold resources being considered for early mining at Indin Lake.

Nighthawk is anticipating a steady flow of assay results from its 2022 program at Indin Lake.

"We expect to update the markets as we continue to receive the drill assay results going forward," Salehi said.
