Drills have tapped numerous multi-ounce gold intercepts on several of the veins identified on Grande Portage's Herbert Gold project north of Juneau, Alaska.

Grande Portage Resources Ltd. Oct. 10 said channel sampling of a recently exposed section of quartz vein supports the company's belief that Goat Vein could be another prolific, high-grade gold structure on the company's Herbert Gold property in Southeast Alaska.

Herbert Gold hosts 1.1 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 7.25 grams per metric ton (267,950 ounces) gold; and 423,200 metric tons of inferred resource averaging 6.04 g/t (82,200 oz) gold, according to a resource calculation completed earlier this year.

Goat Vein currently hosts 308,078 metric tons of the indicated resource averaging 6.19 g/t (79,037 oz) gold.

Grab samples collected from Goat Vein in 2017 returned assay of up to 209. 95 g/t (6.75 ounces per metric ton) gold and 49.8 g/t silver.

Two channel samples were cut this year across a section of Goat Vein recently exposed by rapid erosion of a stream bottom.

One of these sample returned 129.02 g/t (3.76 oz/t) gold and 68 g/t silver over 1.12 meters; and the second returned 290 g/t (8.46 oz/t) gold and 224 g/t silver over 1.02 meters.

Theses samples were cut perpendicular to the vein and therefore represents its true width.

"The continuing confirmation that the Goat Vein exploration program yields impressive gold assays reaffirms our commitment to the Herbert Gold property development," said Grande Portage Resources CEO Ian Klassen. "We are delighted to receive these gold assays from the Goat Vein as representatively tested at surface. The high-grade nature of the results further encourage us to believe that the Goat Vein will be as prolific as the Deep Trench and Main veins."

Grande Portage completed a 15-hole drill program this summer at Herbert Gold that primarily targeted expansion of the Goat and Deep Trench veins.

Assay results from this drilling are pending.
