A drill tests the Klaza zone during the 2015 program at this road accessible gold-silver project in the Yukon. The late-season 2019 program is focused on areas adjacent to the significant resource already outlined at Klaza.

Rockhaven Resources Ltd. Dec. 12 reported that initial assay results from its 2019 drill program at Klaza show the potential to add high-grade gold and silver to the resource already outlined at this road accessible project in southern Yukon.

Located on placer gold mining roads about 50 kilometers (31 miles) west of Carmacks, Klaza is an advance staged exploration project that hosts 4.5 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 4.8 grams per metric ton (686,000 ounces) gold, 98 g/t (14.07 million oz) silver, 0.9 percent (92.1 million pounds) zinc and 0.7 percent (73.3 million lb) lead; plus 5.7 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 2.8 g/t (507,000 oz) gold, 76 g/t (13.9 million oz) silver, 0.7 percent (89.2 million lb) zinc and 0.6 percent (77.5 million lb) lead.

Closing a C$4 million financing in September, Rockhaven launched a 33-hole drill program focused on defining and evaluating targets adjacent to the zones that host the current resource.

The initial assay results are from seven holes that tested Pearl Zone, a structure about 400 meters north of the Klaza mineral resource area that hosts multiple gold and silver veins.

The Pearl Zone discovery hole (KL-17-403), drilled by Rockhaven in 2017, cut multiple mineralized intercepts, including:

• 10.12 meters of 1.16 g/t gold, 18.7 g/t silver, 0.18 percent zinc and 0.1 percent lead from 174.6 meters;

• 0.46 meters of 12.6 g/t gold, 312 g/t silver, 0.66 percent zinc and 1.35 percent lead from 231 meters;

• 0.86 meters of 9.43 g/t gold, 180 g/t silver, 1.25 percent zinc and 1.4 percent lead from 245.4 meters; and

• 0.94 meters of 5.63 g/t gold, 91.4 g/t silver, 3.93 percent zinc and 1.81 percent lead from 302.8 meters.

The seven new holes included four that tested up-dip and along-strike of the 2017 discovery, all of which cut multiple zones similar to the discovery hole.

Highlights from this drilling in Central Pearl include:

• 1.6 meters of 5.28 g/t gold, 1,054 g/t silver, 2.26 percent zinc and 5.62 percent lead from 266.6 meters in hole KL-19-439; and

• 0.9 meters of 7.11 g/t gold, 58.7 g/t silver, 6.15 percent zinc and 0.3 percent lead from 125.2 meters, plus 0.46 meters of 3.72 g/t gold, 1,020 g/t silver, 1.96 percent zinc and 17.2 percent lead from 133.8 meters in KL-19-449.

The three other holes targeted an inferred offset of Pearl Zone within Western Fault Block, a 500-meter-wide structural corridor that hosts the Western BRX and Western Klaza zones, two of the highest-grade gold and silver zones on the property. All three holes cut mineralization but across fewer zones.

Contango ORE is an Alaska gold exploration and mining company.

KL-19-459 cut 0.91 meters averaging 6.52 g/t gold, 235 g/t silver, 0.2 percent zinc and 0.1 percent lead.

"The first drill results from the 2019 program continue to increase the size of the known mineralizing system at Klaza and successfully identified significant epithermal mineralization within one of the most enticing targets on the property, the Western Fault Block, which hosts some of the best gold and silver mineralization identified in the entire Dawson Range Gold Belt," said Rockhaven Resources CEO Matt Turner. "These results support our thesis that systematic drilling adjacent to the known mineral resources has strong potential to add high-grade gold and silver ounces to the project."
