StrikePoint Gold Inc. June 29 announced plans for an initial phase of 2020 exploration at its Willoughby and Porter properties near the town of Stewart in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.

Willoughby is an intrusion related gold-silver project similar to Ascot Resources Ltd.'s Red Mountain Mine project about seven kilometers (four miles) to the west. Historical drilling on the property encountered high-grade gold and silver mineralization in two zones – North and Wilby.

Highlights from historical drilling at North include:

• 5.5 meters of 53.2 grams per metric ton gold and 211.1 g/t silver.

• Three meters of 113.7 g/t gold and 121.8 g/t silver.

• 2.9 meters of 352.2 g/t gold and 194.6 g/t silver.

Highlights from historical drilling at Wilby include:

• 6.8 meters of 20.5 g/t gold and 42.8 g/t silver.

• 12 meters of 12.7 g/t gold and 59.4 g/t silver.

• 11.7 meters of 7.6 g/t gold and 1.4 g/t silver.

Strikepoint acquired Willoughby last year and immediately began investigating this property that has seen extensive deglaciation over nearly two decades.

New mineralized exposure from melting glaciers, coupled with an improved understanding of the structural geological setting, helped refine targets for drilling completed last year at North and Wilby.

Highlights from Strikepoint's 2019 drilling at North include:

• Four meters of 26.28 g/t gold and 95 g/t silver.

• One meter of 102 g/t gold and 356 g/t silver.

• Five meters of 4.91 g/t gold and 27.8 g/t silver.

Highlights from Strikepoint's 2019 drilling at Wilby include:

• 1.1 meters of 9.38 g/t gold and 160 g/t silver.

• 11.7 meters of 3.87 g/t gold and 3.52 g/t silver.

• 12.5 meters of 2.16 g/t and 26.49 g/t silver.

The initial phase of 2020 exploration at Willoughby will focus on refining existing drill targets and identifying new priority areas along and across strike from the known prospects, prioritizing structural and lithological traps that may focus high-grade gold mineralization. Work will include detailed mapping and channel sampling in key areas, with the goal of generating targets for drilling during the second phase of the 2020 program.

Strikepoint geologists will also investigate Porter, a past producing high-grade silver property on Mount Rainey overlooking the town of Stewart, BC.

Early 20th century mining of the vein systems that run through Mount Rainey produced roughly 2.2 million ounces of silver from 27,123 metric tons of ore averaging 2,542 g/t silver.

StrikePoint believes the ore mined from Prosperity-Porter Idaho and Silverado, a smaller high-grade silver mine on the north side of Mount Rainey, could represent opposite ends of a larger mineralized system. Recent glacial retreat has exposed the ground between these past producing mine sites, providing the opportunity to explore for a connection between the deposits.

According to a 2012 calculation, Porter hosts 394,700 metric tons of historical indicated resource averaging 868 g/t (11 million oz) silver; and 88,900 metric tons of historical inferred resources grading 595 g/t (1.7 million oz) silver.

One of the primary targets of this year's exploration at Porter will be Big Nunataq, a prospect area about seven kilometers (four miles) southeast of the historical resource.

Work at Porter will also include structural mapping and sampling to follow up on a newly identified silver-bearing vein located near the historic Porter-Idaho and Silverado Mines.
