Final 2020 Herbert Gold assays roll in

Pervasive gold tapped in established, newly discovered veins North of 60 Mining News – March 26, 2021

Grande Portage Resources Ltd. March 24 reported that the final assay results from its 2020 drill program at Herbert Gold continued to demonstrate the wide distribution of high-grade gold in multiple parallel veins at the project in Southeast Alaska.

"The 2020 drilling campaign clearly demonstrates confidence that the Herbert Gold system is pervasive and continues to expand," said Grande Portage Resources President Ian Klassen. "All veins drilled in 2020 encountered mineralized material. This, we expect, will be important when recalculating the NI (43-101) resource."

According to NI 43-101-compliant resource calculated in 2019, Three roughly parallel vein structures at Herbert Gold – Goat, Main, and Deep Trench – host 1.88 million metric tons of indicated resource averaging 10.03 grams per metric ton (605,000 ounces) gold; plus 553,429 metric tons of inferred resource averaging 14.15 g/t (251,700 oz) gold.

Drilling since that time has extended the mineralization identified in these veins and encountered high-grade gold in other parallel veins.

The 2020 program tested both the eastern extents of the known mineralization as well as some of the deepest drill holes to date on the property.

The final batch of assays from this drilling encountered gold in the Goat, Main, Deep Trench, and Elusive veins, plus Sleeping Giant, North Strand of the Main and other intermediate veins.

Grande Portage reports that the latest batch of results have has extended the Goat vein by more than 150 meters to the east. Hole 20T-11 cut 3.11 meters averaging 18.29 g/t gold at Goat at a drill depth of 204 meters.

The same hole encountered Main, which lies about 225 meters south of Goat. At a depth of 515.7 meters, 20T-11 cut 2.83 meters averaging 5.39 g/t gold at Main.

Hole 20T-12, drilled from the same pad as hole 11, cut 1.48 meters of 10.36 g/t gold in the newly discovered Sleeping Giant vein.

Previously reported 2020 intercepts at Sleeping Giant include 1.3 meters of 40.84 g/t gold in hole 20T-7; 1.07 meters of 7.54 g/t gold in 20T-6; and 1.5 meters of 43.03 g/t gold in 20T-02B.

"In partial measure alone, the four exceptional intercepts in the newly discovered Sleeping Giant vein found within a 200- by 200-meter range is very welcomed news and we expect will be especially impactful when we factor in the numerous assays received on all the other veins drilled this season," said Klassen.

Grande Portage plans to continue expanding the veins and testing new structures with a roughly 8,500-meter drill program in 2021.
