Brixton Metals Corp. July 26 announced the discovery of abundant visible gold in a previously unexplored outcrop at the Trapper target on its 1,000-square-miles (2,600 square kilometers) Thorn gold-copper-silver project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.

Situated about 55 miles (90 kilometers) northeast of Juneau, Alaska, the district-scale Thorn property hosts large-scale porphyry copper-gold-silver-molybdenum and volcanic-sediment hosted gold-silver targets.

Located about five miles (eight kilometers) southeast of the Camp Creek porphyry target being drilled this year by Brixton, Trapper is a volcanic-hosted epithermal target where soil and rock sampling have identified a 7,500-meter-long northwest trending gold anomaly.

"Brixton acquired the Trapper claims from Kodiak Copper in 2020 where previous exploration identified a multi-kilometer gold trend through geochemical sampling and drilling," said Brixton Metals Vice President of Exploration Christina Anstey.

Rock sampling carried out after the acquisition identified a new area of high-grade gold along Inlaw Creek, including ten samples with values up to 47 grams per metric ton gold.

The company also resampled six select holes from a 42-hole drill program completed at Trapper in 2011.

"Visible gold was identified in several of the relogged holes that was not noted in the original logs," said Anstey.

On July 21, 2021, Brixton geologists discovered visible gold at a previously unexplored outcrop along the east side of Inlaw Creek and about 500 meters down the hill from the holes where company geologists identified the VG in core.

Assays are pending from the outcrop samples.

The VG observed in both core and outcrop coincides with a large resistivity low feature identified during 1,072 line-kilometers of magnetic and mobile magnetotelluric geophysical surveys flown over Trapper, Camp Creek, and two other gold and copper target areas at Thorn.

"Brixton is preparing for its maiden drill program at the Trapper target in the coming days," Anstey said.

In the meantime, Brixton has completed more than 2,700 meters of drilling at Camp Creek, where one holed drilled last year, THN20-181 cut 439.4 meters of porphyry mineralization averaging 0.19% copper, 0.07 g/t gold, 2.41 g/t silver, and 0.014% molybdenum. The grades in this hole increased at depth and the bottom 6.2 meters averaged 0.78% copper, 0.21 g/t gold, 7.62 g/t silver, and 0.29% molybdenum.

This year, Brixton extended THN20-181 from 959.8 meters, the bottom of the 2020 drilling, to 1,087.2 meters.

So far this year, the company has drilled another hole from the same pad as THN20-181 but in the opposite direction to a depth of 1,336.5 meters and was 1,200 meters down another hole about 230 meters to the northwest as of July 26.

Assays are pending from all the Camp Creek drilling completed so far this year.
