Silver Range details Silver47 drilling

Partner company continues to explore prospective property North of 60 Mining News – October 28, 2022

Silver Range Resources Ltd. Oct. 24 reported that its partner Silver47 Exploration Corp. has cut high-grade silver-zinc mineralization in its initial drilling at the Silver Matt discovery on its Michelle project in northcentral Yukon.

Split between its portfolio of 43 properties in Nevada and northern Canada, of which 14 are currently under option to others, including the Michelle project now being explored by Silver47.

The Michelle project covers carbonate-hosted, zinc-lead-silver-gallium mineralization with district-scale potential.

Encompassing 782 mineral claims that adjoin the Dempster Highway via a proposed access corridor, Michelle is located approximately 130 kilometers (81 miles) northeast of Dawson City in central Yukon and 630 kilometers (391 miles) north of the deep-water port at Skagway, Alaska.

Work on the property so far has identified 23 zinc-rich, mineralized zones within a 14-kilometer (nine miles) by nine-kilometer (6 miles) area, along with several isolated float occurrences.

Surface rock sampling on the property has yielded peak values of 48.57% zinc, 82.78% lead, 4,180 grams per metric tons silver, and 1,120 parts per million gallium.

Furthermore, historical diamond drilling, which concentrated on two occurrences, returned 16.75% zinc, 8.86% lead, and 310 g/t silver over 18.29 meters at the Gully zone, and 0.55% zinc, 15.18% lead and 2,134 g/t silver over 2.96 meters at the Peak zone.

So far, work programs continue to increase the size and grade of the zinc footprint, and Silver Range says it believes that the numerous high-grade zinc occurrences provide a vector to a much larger target.

Picked up by Silver47 in 2021, mineralization was first discovered in the Silver Matt area in 2009 by prospecting where the grab sample that returned 4,180 g/t silver was found, but also where a 2015 hand trench yielded 2.8 meters averaging 894 g/t silver, 46.9% lead and 8.09% zinc.

The initial drill discovery at Silver Matt was made in 2021 through reverse circulation in hole MCH-21-005. From that discovery, Silver Range and Silver47 have focused efforts on this target; highlights include:

19.8 meters averaging 556 g/t silver, 20.3% lead, and 3.16% zinc in hole MCH-21-005, including 7.6 meters averaging 824 ppm silver, 28.7% lead, and 4% zinc.

15 meters averaging 907 g/t silver, 26% lead, 2.7% zinc in hole MCH-22-002, including 7.7 meters of 1,577 g/t silver, 45% lead, and 4% zinc.

Of the five holes, MCH-22-001 to MCH-22-003 were completed from the same collar as the 2021 RC holes to test potential down-dip and strike extension from 005.

The objective of 001 was to undercut the RC discovery hole 005. Intercepting high-grade mineralization at a shallower depth than expected, 001 indicates a flat to shallow-dipping lens. An intensely oxidized interval returned 4.4 meters which contained up to 2% blebby galena with fine white crystalline precipitate zinc and lead oxides.

MCH-22-002 was drilling to twin MCH-21-005 to obtain structural data and better define the mineralized zone, as 001 produced unexpected results.

002 resulted in similar mineralized widths, but with significantly higher-grade silver, lead, and zinc. The company says this can be attributed to the better recovery percentage of core drilling compared to RC drilling, as well as more control on sampling intervals in the logging process. Up to 7% metallic sulfides, with lead-zinc precipitates were observed through the 7.7-meter interval.

Hole MCH-22-003 was oriented to test the northwest-southeast proposed strike trend and intersected 9.4 meters of high-grade mineralization, including 1.05 meters averaging 1,395 g/t silver, 51.47% lead (final values pending) and 12.25% zinc.

As for holes MCH-22-004 and 005, they were collared 50 meters northwest to test strike extension. Results are still pending from these two.
