Located on the slopes of Mt. Rainey, Prosperity-Porter-Idaho was initially discovered in the early 1900s. Mined between 1929 and 1931, this high-grade silver mine produced roughly 27,123 metric tons with recovered grades of 2,542 g/t silver (73.8 oz/ton) – yielding approximately 2.2 million oz silver.

StrikePoint Gold Inc. Dec. 19 announced that the 2022 exploration drilling was successful in confirming high-grade silver mineralization within the historic resource block on the company's Porter-Idaho project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.

Designed to test extensions for high-grade silver mineralization outlined in historical resource estimates, StrikePoint's 2022 program may have achieved something far more.

While drilling was successful in confirming high-grade silver mineralization, it also demonstrated potential for gold-silver-rich intrusion-related mineralization at the underexplored Red Reef prospect, roughly 850 meters below the elevation of Porter-Idaho and Silverado – and may even be the root of the system.

"As the highest-grade historic pure-silver mine in the Stewart area, these results confirm the tenor of silver grade that can be expected at the Porter project, however the discovery of strong, disseminated gold-silver, located less than a kilometer from the town is very encouraging," said StrikePoint Gold President and CEO Michael Allen. "This intrusive-related style of mineralization may suggest a source or root to the high-grade veins at the Porter-Idaho and Silverado mines, located several hundred meters above the outcrops."

Highlights from this round of results include:

0.51 meters averaging 2,980 grams per metric ton silver and 0.74 g/t gold in hole PIP22-031, which confirmed the historic resource at the past-producing Porter-Idaho mine.

One meter averaging 116 g/t silver and 3.14 g/t gold in channel P22-CH01 at Red Reef that outlined the potential for gold-silver-rich mineralization.

2.09 meters averaging 108.55 g/t silver and 1.13 g/t gold in channel P22-CH02 at Red Reef, which also helped outline the potential.

Additionally, these results came shortly after new target discoveries were added to StrikePoint's growing property.
