Reinforcing Taurus gold deposit growth

First 2023 assays show resource expansion, upgrade potential North of 60 Mining News - September 13, 2023

Cassiar Gold Corp. Sept. 12 reported the first batch of assays from its 2023 drill program at the company's namesake project in Northern British Columbia.

Situated about 55 miles (90 kilometers) southwest of Watson Lake, Yukon, the 145,800-acre (59,000 hectares) Cassiar gold property is divided into two areas – Cassiar North, which hosts the bulk tonnage Taurus gold deposit, and Cassiar South, which hosts multiple high-grade gold targets.

Since the June 1 start of the 2023 drill program, the company has completed more than 14,500 meters of drilling this year, including 11,465 meters at Cassiar North and 3,200 meters at Cassiar South.

The initial assay results are from resource upgrade and expansion drilling at Taurus, a deposit that hosts 37.9 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 1.14 grams per metric ton (1.39 million oz) gold.

Highlights from the first batch of 2023 assays include:

6.8 meters averaging 4.5 g/t gold from a depth of 71.1 meters and 4.9 meters averaging 8.1 g/t gold from 106.6 meters in hole 23TA-184.

23.6 meters averaging 23.6 g/t gold from a depth of 311.1 meters in hole 22TA-187.

22 meters averaging 0.5 g/t gold from a depth of 106.8 meters in hole 22TA-188.

Holes 23TA-184 and 23TA-188 were drilled at the Sable area on the southeast end of the Taurus deposit. Cassiar says the results from these holes indicate the potential for mineralization to extend well beyond the southern extent of the current resource and confirm the continuity of near-surface mineralization.

The company says hole 22TA-187, which was drilled at the western extent of the Taurus deposit, continues to demonstrate a more continuous trend of higher-grade mineralization along the Taurus West Fault than previously modeled, above the 0.5 g/t gold cutoff grade of the Taurus inferred mineral resource.

"The initial results from our 2023 drill program at the Taurus deposit continue to reinforce the excellent potential for ongoing growth at Taurus," said Cassiar Gold CEO Marco Roque.

So far this year, the company has completed more than 11,465 meters of drilling at Cassiar North, which includes 8,367 meters in and around the Taurus deposit and 3,100 meters at the nearby Wings Canyon and Newcoast exploration targets, plus 3,200 meters of drilling at the high-grade Main Mine and Bain target areas at Cassiar South.

The 2023 program also includes mapping, sampling, and prospecting of targets across the entire property.

"Our 2023 exploration campaign has maintained strong momentum in the continued evaluation of the expansion potential of the Taurus deposit, while also advancing our ongoing property-wide exploration for new areas of mineralization on the extensive Cassiar land package," said Roque.
