The district-scale Macmillan Pass project in eastern Yukon covers a 55-kilometer trend of zinc-lead-silver mineralization.

Fireweed Metals Corp. Jan. 9 announced its newest best intercept to date from drilling at Boundary on the company's Macmillan Pass zinc-lead-silver project in Yukon, Canada.

"I am excited to start the year able to say that we have intersected our best-ever Boundary zone drill intersection," said Fireweed Metals CEO Brandon Macdonald.

Out of the 52 holes drilled at Macmillan Pass last year, 40 were completed at Boundary, including 36 step-outs that tested vein mineralization, laminated stratiform mineralization, and massive sulfide zones.

Previously, NB22-002 was one of Fireweed's best intercepts, returning 124 meters averaging 12.4% zinc, 1.3% lead, and 45.9 grams per metric ton silver.

The 2023 program itself began by targeting a gap between NB22-002 and another of its best holes drilled, NB22-023, that returned 298 meters averaging 4.5% zinc, 1.4% lead, and 30.9 g/t silver. NB23-007, drilled in this area, cut two high-grade intercepts – returned 82.5 meters averaging 11.9% zinc, 2.2% lead, and 81.2 g/t silver from a depth of 170.7 meters; and 118 meters averaging 15.1% zinc, 2.8% lead, and 85.8 g/t silver from a depth of 309.9 meters.

"We stepped out 140 meters along strike from NB22-002 and NB23-007 and hit a spectacular intersection in NB23-028, further supporting our interpretation that there is a continuous high-grade feeder zone within the stratiform unit at Boundary Zone," added Macdonald.

Highlights from the latest batch include:

143.95 meters (estimated 50 meters true width) averaging 14.45% zinc, 1.15% lead, and 60 g/t silver from a depth of 305.6 meters in hole NB23-028.

66.11 (18 meters true width) meters averaging 7.13% zinc, 0.97% lead, and 54.8 g/t silver from 282.65 meters in NB23-022 from stratiform massive sulfide.

2.5 meters averaging 5.13% zinc, 0.43% lead, and 33.8 g/t silver in NB23-022D1 (directional cut off NB23-022) from sulfide.

5.76 meters averaging 6.32% zinc, 1.5% lead, and 34.6 g/t silver from 516 meters in NB23-029 from stratiform massive sulfide.

20.75 meters averaging 5.2% zinc, 2.05% lead, and 52.6 g/t silver from 416.75 meters in NB23-029D1 (secondary splay hole from NB23-029) from stratiform massive sulfide.

6.5 meters averaging 7.33% zinc, 0.05% lead, and 14.5 g/t silver from 142.4 meters in NB23-031 from vein and breccia style mineralization.

18.37 meters averaging 4.25% zinc, 0.14% lead, and 12.7 g/t silver from 412.55 meters in NB23-032 from stratiform massive sulfide.

Fireweed notes that the stratiform sulfides intersected in NB23-022D1 and NB23-029D1 are associated with a separate zone that will require additional drilling and interpretation.

Although not listed within the highlights, several of its holes cut multiple intercepts of further mineralization, in particular, NB23-028 and NB23-029.

Stratiform massive sulfides were also intersected in NB23-022, as well as NB23-029.

Now considered its best intercept, NB23-028 intersected a broad, high-grade interval of massive sulfides rich in zinc, lead, and silver that are correlated with the interpreted feeder zone of Boundary. In addition to the highlighted grading, 028 also included 28.71 meters averaging 25.52% zinc and 91.3 g/t silver, as well as 10.14 meters averaging 32.72% zinc, 1.34% lead, and 109.8 g/t silver; and two vein and breccia style mineralized holes at 19.4 meters averaging 3.65% zinc and 5.1 g/t silver, and 7.7 meters averaging 9.95% zinc and 12.7 g/t silver.

NB23-029 similarly reported four separate intervals of vein and breccia style mineralization, including 27.81 meters averaging 4.28% zinc and 11.9 g/t silver; 29.18 meters averaging 2.93% zinc and 4.6 g/t silver; 16.62 meters averaging 8.74% zinc and 11.1 g/t silver; and 38.4 meters averaging 3.06% zinc and 8.2 g/t silver.

"We now have multiple wide and high-grade intersections that highlight the potential for another large zinc system within this exceptional critical minerals project," said Macdonald.
