Kicks off 15,000-meter campaign in the hopes to expand Blackjack gold footprint.

Sitka Gold Corp. March 5 announced the start of its 15,000-meter diamond drilling program at its flagship RC Gold project in Yukon, Canada, which will start by targeting the southern extent of its jackpot 1.34-million-ounce Blackjack deposit.

"We are very excited to have the drill turning again at our flagship RC Gold project," said Sitka Gold CEO Cor Coe. "This winter drilling program will be primarily focused on the southern extent of the Blackjack zone where we encountered the highest grade gold intercepts on the project to date in hole DDRCCC-23-047, which returned 219 meters of 1.34 grams per metric ton gold including 124.8 meters of 2.01 g/t gold and 55 meters of 3.11 g/t gold."

Reporting the mobilization for its 2024 program last week, the key takeaway from its announcement so far is the company plans to further expand and define the well-endowed Clear Creek Intrusive Complex area that currently hosts the Blackjack and Eiger deposits, both of which remain open in all directions, and advance the drill-ready targets elsewhere within its district-scale property.

Plan map showing location of DDRCCC-24-057, where diamond drilling is currently underway. This drill hole is designed to test continuity of the higher-grade gold intercepts previously discovered at the southern extent of the Blackjack Zone.

Riding on the coattails of its initial inferred mineral resource estimate released last year – which, according to the calculation, RC Gold hosts 33.7 million metric tons averaging 0.83 g/t (900,000 oz) gold at Blackjack; and 27.4 million metric tons averaging 0.5 g/t (440,000 oz) gold at Eiger – the 2024 program is intended to further define the extent of both deposits which remain open in all directions.

"Gold grades of this magnitude are quite remarkable for a reduced intrusion related gold system and the data thus far indicates this higher-grade extension of the Blackjack gold deposit should persist further to the southeast and at depth," said Coe. "While step out drilling in this area could add substantial grade and tonnage to the existing resource, we are also excited to follow up on several other high priority, drill ready targets present across our district-scale and still largely underexplored land package this year."

Whether it can find the time to target the additional properties on its RC Gold project, which comprise the Mahtin, Clear Creek, Barney Creek, Bee Bop, and RC properties, in addition to Blackjack and Eiger, the company will undoubtedly give notice in the coming months.
