Blue Star drilled 28 hole this year into high-grade gold zones on its Ulu and Hood River properties in western Nunavut.

Blue Star Gold Corp. Oct. 28 announced additional high-grade gold intercepts from a recently completed 7,624-meter drill program at its Ulu and Hood River properties in the Kitikmeot region of western Nunavut.

The Ulu property hosts an advanced gold project that has historically been the target of significant exploration and development by BHP Minerals, Echo Bay Mines, and others.

According to a 2015 calculation, the Flood and Gnu zones on the Ulu property host 2.5 million metric tons of measured and indicated resources averaging 7.53 grams per metric ton (605,000 ounces) gold; and 1.26 million metric tons of inferred resource grading 5.57 g/t (226,000 oz) gold.

The adjacent and larger Hood River property hosts 22 known gold occurrences and is prospective for shear-hosted gold mineralization similar to the Flood zone, which hosts the bulk of the resource on the adjacent Ulu property.

The 38-hole drill program completed by Blue Star this year included ten holes to expand resources and confirm the geologic model at Ulu and Gnu, plus 28 holes to test exploration targets on both the Ulu and Hood River properties.

The latest batch of assay results are from two holes drilled at Flood, one at Gnu and three on the Hood River property.

The hole drilled at Gnu, BS2020ULU-007, cut two meters averaging 52.7 g/t gold from a depth of 25 meters.

Hole BS2020ULU-006, drilled at Flood, cut four high-grade gold intercepts: four meters averaging 12.5 g/t gold from a depth of 407 meters; four meters of 9.98 g/t gold from 432 meters; 14 meters of 4.23 g/t gold from 487 meters; and seven meters of 12.5 g/t gold from 504 meters.

Highlights from previously reported holes from this year's drilling at Flood include seven meters of 13.42 g/t gold from a depth of nine meters in hole BS2020ULU-002; and nine meters of 8.67 g/t gold from 13 meters, eight meters of 8.26 g/t gold from 110 meters, and 11 meters of 4.24 g/t gold from 154 meters in hole BS2020ULU-003.

Blue Star also previously reported results from 12 holes completed this year at the North Fold Nose, or NFN, zone on the Hood River property. Highlights from this drilling include: two meters averaging 13.18 g/t gold from a depth of 109 meters in hole HR20-013; four meters of 7.59 g/t gold from 118 meters in HR20-014; and three meters of 18.87 g/t gold from 164 meters in HR20-017.

The company anticipates that this year's drilling will support a maiden resource estimate for the NFN zone.

Blue Star Gold anticipates an aggressive 2021 exploration program at Ulu and Hood River that will focus on expansion of the high-grade resource base in the Flood and Gnu zones; testing proximal targets with excellent discovery potential; and exploration of the numerous high-grade gold showings across the extensive and highly prospective Ulu and Hood River properties.
