After over 50,000 meters of drilling in more than 200 holes, Banyan's 2022 program produced a significant stockpile of core to be sorted, cataloged, and stowed for safekeeping.

Banyan Gold Corp. Feb. 27 announced the analytical results from the final 57 diamond drill holes from the company's 2022 drill program at AurMac, a massive influx that further establishes the viability and prospectivity of this northern Canadian gold project.

Located approximately 56 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of the village of Mayo, Banyan Gold's flagship property lies within the similarly named Mayo Mining District.

Consisting of the Aurex and McQuesten projects optioned from neighbor Victoria Gold Corp. and Hecla Mining Company, respectively, in addition to claims staked by Banyan itself, the property covers over 17,300 hectares (42,750 acres) of highly prospective land.

Home to three deposits – Airstrip, Powerline, and Aurex Hill – AurMac hosts a combined 4 million ounces of gold.

According to a resource estimate calculated in May of last year, Airstrip hosts 42.5 million metric tons of pit-constrained inferred resource averaging 0.64 grams per metric ton (874,000 ounces) gold; Powerline hosts 152 million metric tons of pit-constrained inferred resource averaging 0.59 g/t (2.9 million oz) gold; and Aurex Hill hosts 12.5 million metric tons of pit-constrained inferred resource averaging 0.53 g/t (215,000 oz) gold.

With the final results rolling in from last year, Banyan is well-positioned to prepare for the 2023 exploration season.

"With all 2022 data now in hand, Banyan is positioned to further advance the AurMac deposit," said Banyan Gold President and CEO Tara Christie. "The 2022 exploration program was successful in demonstrating that the AurMac deposit has the potential to be district scale, with the near/on-surface gold mineralization of the Powerline and Aurex Hill deposits continuing to be open and with step-out drilling demonstrating that Banyan can continue to add ounces beyond what will be in our mid-year resource update."

Operating in a systematic 100-meter step-out fashion, Banyan has taken a tactical approach to exploration and essentially guarantees no stone will be unturned. As for the 57 holes, highlights include:

31.2 meters averaging 0.84 g/t gold from a depth of 293.4 meters in hole DDH-22-350.

30.5 meters averaging 1.48 g/t gold from 28.3 meters in DDH-22-364.

78.3 meters averaging 0.48 g/t gold from 73.9 meters in DDH-22-371.

105.9 meters averaging 0.41 g/t gold from 10.7 meters in DDH-22-376.

43.7 meters averaging 0.6 g/t gold from 72.7 meters in DDH-22-380.

63.2 meters averaging 0.45 g/t gold from 41.7 meters in DDH-22-382.

54.1 meters averaging 0.43 g/t gold from 128.7 meters in DDH-22-384.

90 meters averaging 0.46 g/t gold from 21.3 meters in DDH-22-386.

64.3 meters averaging 0.42 g/t gold from 54.6 meters in DDH-22-387.

Straightforward and consistent, AurMac has continued to return results that do not appear to be slowing down. Last year, Banyan drilled a total of 211 diamond drill holes, with 209 drilled at AurMac and three being at the recently added Nitra property, for a cumulative total of just over 50,000 meters of drilling.

While 2023 exploration and development plans are still being hashed out by Banyan's technical and management team, the company says that the 2023 drilling at AurMac will at least include 25,000 meters for Phase 1 to be commenced later this month.

"Banyan looks forward to another aggressive exploration season designed to build upon and expand the AurMac property's expansive gold endowment towards building an economic gold resource," said Christie.

The 2023 program will also be aided by an on-site preparatory lab that will reduce assay turnaround times, which Banyan hopes will help target and refine drilling activities while the season is ongoing.
